Light The Way Solutions was formed to broker the upgrade to an all fiber network of existing providers, where they do not have it today.
We work with local leaders, who seek to have the Telco/Cable network upgraded to fiber. We discourage the build-out of another network, due to the economics. Instead, we encourage collaboration between Telco/Cable players, Municipality leaders, local banking and others. By doing so we reduce the cost of construction by 25-35% vs. doing it individually.

Randy Markway and Jim McNaughton, coupled with many partners, are Light The Way Solutions. We develop technical and funding solutions advancing fiber optics to all.
Randy Markway has over 30 years of experience in telecommunications, in local, long distance, international, wireless and video divisions. He has been in Consumer, Business, Wholesale, Regulatory, and Network business units as part of United Telecom, Sprint- Nextel, Embarq and CenturyLink. His expertise is in idea generation and providing financial and economic analysis to drive strategic decisions. He holds a Masters Degree in Finance from Rockhurst University, and a BSBA in Finance from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and is a CMA.
Jim McNaughton has been working in the planning and design of communications networks for the last 26 years. His particular expertise is in the planning and design of optical communications networks for video, voice, and data networks. He has consulted and worked for CenturyLink (Embarq), Sprint, and Southwestern Bell (AT&T) among others. He was involved in the design of optical components and data communications for IBM and NCR. Jim has a Masters Degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Kansas and an MBA.
We teach at the University level in our spare time.
